NSW based, estate wine producer Cumulus Wines announced late last week the appointment of two new senior executives with Steven Barbera joining as chief executive and Adrian Lockhart as general manager of operations.
Formerly senior vice president of global sales and marketing at Constellation Wines, Steven Barbera has significant market experience in both wine export and the FMCG beverage sector.
Cumulus chairman Peter Wedgwood said, “Steven’s knowledge bank of marketing and selling to international and domestic retailers means we are well placed to further grow our premium brands – particularly the Cumulus, Climbing and Rolling labels".
"As a wine company, we are currently selling in 27 countries and are committed to adding more resources to service our valued customers in each and every market,” Wedgwood said.
With the appointment of Adrian Lockhart as general manager of operations, Cumulus Wines will also strengthen the production side of the business which is based at its estate near Orange in NSW. “This is a new position that has been created as a direct result of the successful growth and diversity of the Cumulus range of wines,” Wedgwood said.
Adrian Lockhart is a highly qualified winemaker who amongst other achievements was awarded the 2001 Australian Wine Society Young Winemaker of the Year. Having experience with wine companies in the Hunter, South Australia and New Zealand, Adrian fully understands the day-to-day operational requirements of a wine company producing wine for multi markets.
Wedgwood said, “In signing up both Steven and Adrian, we have set the stage for a very strong management team that will lead Cumulus into its next phase of growth and consolidation.”
