$10 million expansion for SA's Salena Estate Wines

Salena Estate Wines, a medium-sized family winery located in Loxton in the Riverland, is currently in the process of undergoing a $10 million upgrade and expansion to their warehouse and cellar door.

The expanded warehousing facilities will include 3,000sqm of undercover additional storage and a new workspace for the maintenance department.

The new Cellar Door will allow visitors to come and taste all that Salena Estate has to offer as well as having food available on the weekends.

This space will also be able to hold functions up to 120 people stand up and 70 guests seated.

Finally, new offices and meeting room spaces for the increased number of overseas clients.

The works started in October 2017 and are expecting completion in mid-2018.

In addition to the new space, new equipment such as a de-palletiser machine and labeller have been added to the existing bottling line in order to increase speed and quality as well as providing better efficiencies for their customers.

Owner and Managing Director of Salena Estate Wines, Bob Franchitto, said the business has grown rapidly over the last few years, increasing the need for new facilities.

This expansion will occupy some of the 500 acres of land that are owned and operated by Salena Estate Wines.

Salena Estate Wine was established in 1998 by wine identities Bob and Sylvia Franchitto.

It grows its own grapes, harvests and quickly transports them to a modern winery located on site, and then completes the production process by bottling and packaging before shipping to markets across the globe.
