Bushfire victims to benefit from Rochford Wine’s musical event in March

Rochford Wines and Music Theatre Australia have announced plans to help raise funds for victims of this week’s tragic Victorian bushfires, through the forthcoming concert event, Opera Under the Stars, to be held on Saturday, March 7 at Rochford Wines, Yarra Valley.

Producer of Opera Under the Stars and founding member of internationally-renowned opera group Pot-Pourri, Tania De Jong, who will perform favourites from opera and music theatre, said today “Our hearts go out to all who have been affected by this tragedy, and although we have already committed this event as a fundraiser for The Alannah and Madeline Foundation and The Australian Childhood Foundation, we will be doing everything we can to help the Bushfire Appeal by raising additional contributions on the night.”

Featuring sensational Australian songsters, Pot-Pourri showcases the highlights and humour of opera and music theatre – Madam Butterfly, Rigoletto, Carmen, Turandot, Lakme, The Pearl Fishers, Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables, Chicago, Cats and Westside Story, plus favourite songs of Andrea Bocelli, Josh Groban, The Three Tenors and more. The event will also include Australia’s brightest emerging chamber group, The Yarra Trio.

Pot-Pourri has a fabulous new line-up with husband and wife team Rebecca and Jon Bode taking over from soprano Dominique Oyston (10 years in the group) and tenor Craig MacDonald (17 years in the group). Musical director and pianist is the talented Rebecca Chambers.

General admission tickets are $55, or $50 for group bookings of 10 or more. Concession tickets are $40. A VIP two-course meal including A Reserve seating is available for $125. All tickets will incur an additional booking fee.
