Call out for skin contact whites

Australia’s Wine & Viticulture Journal has issued an invitation to the country’s producers of ‘orange’ wines to take part in its forthcoming tasting of the style.

The publication has been conducting tastings of Australian wines, from Shiraz, Cabernet and Chardonnay to Vermentino, Prosecco and Lagrein, for 14 years but this is the first time it has put orange (aka skin contact) whites to the test.

The tasting is open to any white wines subjected to extended skin contact.

The results of the tasting will be published in the May-June issue of the Wine & Viticulture Journal.

Producers interested in submitting their wines to the tasting are asked to email editor Sonya Logan () in the first instance by no later than next Friday (28 April).

Samples for the tasting will need to be received by no later than Thursday 11 May.

The results of the Wine & Viticulture Journal’s most recent tasting of Tempranillo will be available in its March-April issue due out in the coming days.
