Temporary water prices remain at the lower end of what has been seen on the water market so far this season.
Waterfind CEO Tom Rooney says “water is currently listed for sale on the market from $340 per megalitre, with water trading today for as low as $310 per megalitre.”
Mr. Rooney says that as we enter the summer period, water remains at a consistent and more affordable price point, particularly compared to this time last season.
For those irrigators looking to sure up their water supply for the remainder of the season, or for possible carry-over into next season, current market prices are representing an ideal time to enter the market.
Next week’s mid-month allocation announcements will provide irrigators with a clearer indication of the water supply available in the coming months.
