Hunter Valley Semillon 2008

Hunter Valley Semillon is often described by international wine experts as “Australia’s wine gift to world” it is the highest quality, purest expression of dry white wine produced anywhere on the globe.

The purity of the 2008 Hungerford Hill Hunter Valley Semillon is seen through its zesty, slightly grassy, bright lemon and lime aromas, with pristine flavours that are complemented with a full spectrum of natural mouth watering fruit acid. Winemaker Michael Hatcher is pleased with how the wine is presenting “This new ‘drink now’ style Hungerford Hill Semillon is sure to follow in the footsteps of the award winning 2007 release. It is great to produce a quality wine with true regional character. Hunter Semillon is a unique and iconic style Australians should be proud of” note Michael. Semillon is the most highly awarded variety in the Hunter Valley winning trophies and medals at both national and international wine shows, Hungerford Hill is amidst this awarded group. The Hungerford Hill Hunter Valley Semillon 2007 was most recently Huon Hooke’s ‘pick of Semillon’ in late November’s Good Living Magazine with a rating of 95/100, an accolade that joins the Top Gold award at the Royal Brisbane Wine Show, earlier in the year.

Fittingly, the 2008 has already been awarded a Gold medal at the highly contested Rutherglen Wine Show.

Building on their dedication to the variety, Hungerford Hill now produces an additional Semillon style solely for ‘aged release’, this new style has already picked up Gold at the Royal Adelaide Wine Show, highlighting exciting times ahead for Hungerford Hill Semillon.

Hungerford Hill wines are available at wine retailers nationally and through Hungerford Hill’s distributor Domaine Wine Shippers (ph: 02 9427 5222). www.hungerfordhill.com.au
