Hungerford Hill is very pleased to announce that the judging panels at the 10th NSW Wine Awards have selected both the Hungerford Hill 1999 Dalliance and the Hungerford Hill 2003 Orange Shiraz in the Top 40 wines of the show, from the record 677 entrants for 2005.
Hungerford Hill 1999 Dalliance methode champenoise was selected from 16 sparkling wines to be awarded the 2005 Wine Press Club of NSW Trophy for the best New South Wales sparkling wine.
The majority of sparkling wines were from the Hunter Valley but the Murray Darling, Riverina, Orange and Tumbarumba were also represented.
The NSW Wine Awards are open only to wines made from grapes grown in New South Wales and entries are received from all wine regions in NSW.
Trophy winners and runners up were announced at the awards presentation dinner, held in conjunction with a tasting of the Top 40 NSW wines on Wednesday 19 October 2005 at Park Hyatt Sydney.
