Northwest Horticulture Industry Leadership Capacity Program starting soon

The Northwest Horticulture Industry Leadership Capacity Program (an off-shoot of the successful Wine Industry Leadership Program) will be running programs in Northwest Victoria very soon.

This program is funded by DPI Victoria and focuses on developing people’s practical leadership and management skills. The course covers a range of topics including team dynamics, communication, strategic planning, decision-making, goal setting, understanding the industry and networking. Each regional group also has the opportunity to identify a topic they would like to tackle on day three of the course.

Days one and two of the course are run consecutively with day three being held three to four months later. Over the first two days of the training course, participants are encouraged to identify a project that they would like to work on over the four month period of the training.

In the time between days two and three, participants have access to individual coaching from the course facilitator via phone and email in order to support them to undertake their project. Participants report back to the group on their progress on day three of the training course.

The course costs $100 per participant and will be held in: Swan Hill on the 8th and 9th of October, with a third day 3–4months later Mildura on the 6th and 7th of November, with a third day 3–4months later Robinvale on the 21st & 22nd of April 2009, with a third day 3–4months later

If you would like more information about the program, please contact Natalie Tostovrsnik at DPI on (03) 9210 9234 or email ">n. Registration forms can be found at www.dpi.vic.gov.au/fruitcheque
