Ten expert vignerons will form the judging panel at this year’s National Cool Climate Wine Show (NCCWS) at Bathurst Showgrounds over 14–17 October.
Tim Knappstein returns to head the panel as Chief Judge (Riposte Wines & Wick’s Estate). The two panel Chairs are Lester Jesberg (Winewise Magazine) and Steve Goodwin (Witchmont Estates Winemaker).
Such interest from these renowned figures of Australia’s wine world demonstrates their support of the NCCWS, which is in its tenth anniversary event this year.
The panel will be judging over 1000 entries from cool climate vineyards across Australia.
Panel members include Len Sorbello (Winewise consultant), Simon Nunn (Cooper’s Creek Wines, New Zealand), Mike De Luliis (De Luliis Wines) and Andrew Spinaze (Senior Winemaker at Tyrells).
Associate judges are Leigh Ratzner (Winemaker of Wick Estate, SA), Mark Renzaglia (Winburndale Wines, Bathurst) and Folkert Jensen (Windowrie Wines, Cowra).
The three-day judging period will be followed by a public tasting; providing opportunities for members of the public to taste the award-winning and competition entrant wines. To book tickets for the public tasting: contact Bathurst Tourist Information Centre: (02) 6332 1444 or visit the Centre: 1 Kendall Ave Bathurst 2795.
