Great Southern contract winery, The Vintage Wineworx, is buzzing with excitement after its clients won 18 medals, including two Top of Class Gold, at this year’s Perth Royal Wine Show.
Wineworx clients received an overall score of 36 points – higher than the winning score of the Most Successful Western Australian Exhibitor.
Top of Class Gold medals were awarded to 2008 Big Brook Wines Oaked Chardonnay (Class 4) and the 2007 Bellarmine Wines Shiraz (Class 35). The 2007 Montgomery’s Hill Vineyard Shiraz also received a Gold Medal (Class 15).
Silver medals were awarded to the recently released 2007 Xabregas Shiraz, 2006 Xabregas Show Reserve Chardonnay and the 2005 Montgomery’s Hill Vineyard Shiraz.
Greg Jones, Senior Winemaker at The Vintage Wineworx, said the Perth Royal Wine Show is always extremely competitive, attracting entries from all over Australia and New Zealand.
“The winemaking team and its clients are proud of the winery’s exceptional performance. Winning Top of Class Gold for Big Brook Wines in their first year of production is a fantastic achievement,” he said.
The Vintage Wineworx completed a $1 million expansion of its productions facilities in late 2007 which included a 650m² barrel room, logistics centre and state-of-the-art Italian made 'Firmer' bottling line. Now occupying over 1,500m², with the capacity to crush 1000 tonnes and produce over 700,000 litres of premium wine, the winery is one of the most well-equipped and modern facilities in Australia.
The winery is proud to count some of WA’s leading brands among its clients including Xabregas, Montgomery’s Hill, Bellarmine, Hidden River, Rosenthal, Jingalla and Across the Lake.
The Vintage Wineworx is located in the Great Southern region of Western Australia and is fast becoming one of the most highly regarded contract wineries in Australia.
