Tasting Australia media visit

Barossa Wine and Tourism in conjunction with Food Barossa will host 40 international food, wine and travel media writers in the Barossa on 21 October as a part of the Tasting Australia festivities.

Tasting Australia gives the world’s food, drink and travel media and professional as well as the public the opportunity to enjoy the best that Australia has to offer in produce, wine, beer, hospitality and tourism. “The visiting media will come from all over the world including the US, Europe, Canada, New Zealand and Asia. By personally hosting them for the day we are aim to generate editorial coverage about the journey and discoveries visitors can make in the Barossa,” said regional marketing manager Racheal Klitscher. More than 15 wineries will host a collaborative wine tasting, and twelve local chefs have teamed up with local producers to create dishes reflective of the Barossa's food traditions and flavours. This will culminate in a lunch at the Wolf Blass Visitor Centre during the afternoon. Held every two years in Adelaide, Tasting Australia provides a showcase for the world’s top culinary talents. This year’s event runs from 21 –30 October. This is the fifth Tasting Australia media tour that the Barossa has hosted since 1997 and comes ahead of Barossa’s key food event, Barossa Slow, which will be held from 5–9 March 2006.
