An innovative wine label produced by South Australia’s Tucker Creative has continued its winning streak, claiming gold at a prestigious printing industry awards evening.
The label for Oliver’s Taranga Vineyards was awarded gold in the labels category at the SA Printing Industry Craftsmanship Awards (PICA). The award is the result of a collaboration between leading international label printers, Collotype Pty Ltd, and Tucker Creative.
The accolade follows a silver award for the same label at the Printing Industry Association of Australia 25th National Print Awards Ceremony held in Melbourne in May this year.
Tucker Creative Managing and Creative Director, Jody Tucker, said the awards were testament to his dedicated creative team, led on this project by Michaela Hill.
“Working with progressive McLaren Vale-based winemaker Corrina Rayment on a label for her Expatriate Shiraz has been such a rewarding and exciting journey,” Tucker said.
“The Expatriate Shiraz was bound for the US market which really forged the direction of our design as Corrina began to reminisce about her own travels and winemaking studies in California.
“We are proud that our label continues to be recognised at peak industry awards.”
The label replicates a travel diary and comprises elements that the traveller collects and writes during the travelling adventures. The Expatriate Shiraz label was printed at Collotype Labels in four colour process and one spot colour, with emboss detail.
