ABEVE were appointed the distributors for Niko cider equipment and have already installed their first line of apple and pear processing equipment into the Adelaide Hills in 2014.
Most of the Australian operating wineries have half of the necessary equipment (pumps, tanks, filters & refrigeration) to start processing apples and pears for cider.
To complete the processing line Niko offer affordable fruit washers, sorter-conveyors, mills and presses. In fact Niko offer two types of presses a Belt version or a Pneumatic membrane press which can be used for apples and wine grapes.
The location of wine regions around Australia are quite often in close proximity to apple and pear orchids (Yarra Valley, Tasmania, Southern W.A., Adelaide Hills); meaning the sourcing of fruit is easy and because the processing starts in winter it does not clash with grape harvesting.
Niko also offer processing equipment for stone fruits (cherries, peaches, apricots) and berries for those producers that want to offer a wide range of fruit derived purees, juices and wines.
