Minister Matt Brown becomes Patron of Kiama Regional Wine Show

The Kiama Show Society is pleased to announce that the Hon. Matt Brown MP, Member for Kiama, Minister for Housing and Minister for Tourism has become Patron of the Kiama Regional Wine Show.

In his capacity as both the local member and NSW Minister for Tourism, Minister Brown is ideally suited to champion the growth of the regional wine tourism industry.

"I am a long-time supporter of the Kiama Regional Wine Show and am delighted to underline my commitment by becoming Patron. The great work done by the Society not only supports the local wine tourism industry but also encourages investment and business innovation," Brown said.

In his new role as Patron Minister Brown endorses the Kiama Regional Wine Show and its dual objectives of promoting viticulture as a viable agricultural industry in the region and promoting the regional tourism industry.

Sandy Rendel, Chairman of the Kiama Regional Wine Show said “We are honoured that Minister Brown has accepted our invitation to become Patron of the Kiama Regional Wine Show. It underlines his support of regional wine tourism, and his personal commitment to the local wine industry. We hope that his presence will encourage even greater participation in the Show.”

Now in its fifth successful year, the Show will include respected wine judges from throughout New South Wales. Fourth generation Hunter Valley Winemaker, Keith Tulloch will serve as Chairman of Judges.

Award winning local event management company JAi Events will again serve as Event Managers this year. Initial Call for Entries were sent earlier today and another excellent year is anticipated. Strong showings by several local wineries at recent national events bode well for 2008.

Judging will take place at the Grand Mercure Kiama Blue on 17 September 2008 followed by the Gala Awards Dinner at Bellachara Boutique Hotel Gerringong on Saturday 20 September.

Enquires regarding Call for Entries, Sponsorship or tickets for the Gala Dinner should be made to Carole Johnston of JAi Events at 02 4237 5554 are ">c.
