Wily Trout Wines reach their Zenith

Wily Trout Wines are pleased to announce that a wholesale distributor, Zenith Wine Agencies has been appointed to distribute four of their wines on a national basis commencing July 2008.

Zenith Wine Agencies, the brainchild of wine industry professional Linda Holmes formerly of Pipers Brook, has created a portfolio of wines representing 15 Australian Wine Regions. Sup-ported by the marketing expertise of Pinpoint Marketing, Zenith promises to provide retailers and restaurateurs with an exciting new incentive program as well as the exposure to a group of wineries not currently represented by any other distributor.

Linda has over 20 years experience in a diversity of management roles in the fine wine retail and wholesale sectors, representing some of the world’s best brands including Pipers Brook Vineyard and Poole’s Rock.

An enduring passion for wine and the wine industry has been the driving force behind Linda’s career. Of the Canberra District Linda said: “The region has one of the most strongly continental climates in Australia, with its cold winter and long hot, dry summers. The result is one of the country’s most exciting wine regions, that is only just being discovered.

“The Wily Trout vineyard lies at over 720 metres above sea level and this relatively cool site is ideal for the early ripening grape varieties; Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Shiraz. We are pleased to be able to represent a quality product such as Wily Trout and believe their wines will enhance our portfolio who include South Australia’s Clare Valley’s Neagles Rock, Victoria’s Rutherglen Estates and Clairult Wines from Margaret River, Western Australia,” said Linda.

Susan Bruce of Poachers Pantry said: “Zenith Wine Agencies model and vision works so well with our strategy for Wily Trout. I met Linda and was impressed by her experience and knowledge and once she introduced me to Pinpoint Marketing I became very excited with the opportunities that they could present to the industry as well.”

Wily Trout Vineyard shares the home of Poachers Pantry and the Smokehouse Café. Together these two products combine to create a Canberra District award winning tourism experience. The busy restaurant and cellar door is building an enviable reputation and loyal following for the wines.

Poachers Pantry and Wily Trout vineyard are located near Hall, just 25 minutes from Canberra. The Smokehouse Café is open for lunch from Friday through to Sunday and Brunch on Saturday and Sunday from 10am.
