Penfolds celebrated the new vintage release of The Penfolds Collection 2015, led by the flagship 2011Grange, at a gala event held in Shanghai a short time ago.
The event, hosted by Penfolds Chief Winemaker Peter Gago, was attended by more than 300 international guests and featured the global premier of ‘The Story of Grange’, a short film showcasing the story of Grange and its creator, Max Schubert.
Gago said the event was a celebration in every sense of the word.
“To release our Penfolds Collection in this setting, in this place, is both timely and symbolically important,” Gago said. “For well over two decades Penfolds wines have been purveyed in China.
“It is a proud moment to launch our new release wines to the world out of this great city Shanghai.”
Officially unveiled for the first time internationally, the Collection’s 2015 debut saw guests experience the new-release wines, paired with a culinary experience by Penfolds Magill Estate Restaurant’s Head Chef Scott Huggins.
The Penfolds Collection 2015 spans five vintages across 20 individual wines of provenance, all proudly displaying the Penfolds ‘House Style.’
