Xavier de Eizaguirre is new President of Vinexpo

Earlier this month, Xavier de Eizaguirre was appointed as President of Vinexpo Bordeaux, the international wine and spirits exhibition, during a meeting of the Supervisory Board of the company.

Xavier de Eizaguirre, General Manager and Member of the Management Board of Baron Philippe de Rothschild SA, takes over from Jean-Marie Chadronnier, director of CVBG Dourthe Kressmann, who presided over the exhibition during the three Vinexpos in Bordeaux in 2003, 2005 and 2007.

All the Board members paid tribute to the work carried out by Jean-Marie Chadronnier and his contribution to the development of the exhibition. They then highlighted the professionalism of Xavier de Eizaguirre, his in-depth knowledge of international markets and his untiring drive to innovate, which will clearly benefit Vinexpo as it moves on to further success.

Organisational change With this new presidency comes a change at the top of Vinexpo’s organisation. The Board of Directors is replaced by a Supervisory Board and an Executive Board. The President of the Bordeaux Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Laurent Courbu, is now the President of the Executive Board and Robert Beynat, Vinexpo’s General Executive, becomes its General Manager. This change also applies to Vinexpo Overseas, where Ms. Dominique Hériard Dubreuil remains President, its Executive Board being identical to that of Vinexpo SAS.

Vinexpo SAS opens its capital to new shareholders Five new shareholders, Concha y Toro, Les Grands Chais de France, Barton & Guestier / Diageo, Michel Laroche and Sogrape have contributed to the capital of Vinexpo SAS, demonstrating to what extent major industry players want to be involved in the exhibition.

They join the 41 other companies, who have supported Vinexpo in its remarkable development over many years alongside the principle shareholder, the Bordeaux Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
