Barossa Slow 2006 - real values, real people, real taste

Following on the success of the inaugural Barossa Slow in 2004, planning for the 2006 event is full steam ahead and will take place on Thursday 9 March – Sunday 12 March 2006.

Extensive community consultation has reinforced the vision of Barossa Slow and its relevance to the Barossa. Not just another weekend of food and wine, Barossa Slow is a celebration of real values, real people and real taste.

Barossa Slow aims to represent this region’s 150 year journey and give visitors a chance to be part of the community’s quest to nourish and maintain a sense of place. It will provide participants with the opportunity to mix with the Barossa’s food and wine producers, share their enthusiasm and learn how this community’s dedication to tradition melds with its modern commercial realities.

The Barossa community will welcome Barossa Slow participants into their homes, farms, wineries and vineyards. Sites will embody the region’s commitment to the preservation of traditional methods of production — mixed farms, artisan food producers, handmade food and wine.

Barossa Slow will be a weekend filled with an intriguing array of intimate gatherings that encourage exploration, conversation, conviviality and, of course, taste.
