Thandi on a winning streak

Thandi has added significantly to its silverware, thanks to impressive performances at a number of local and international wine competitions this year.

At the recent International Wine Challenge, Thandi Chardonnay 2006 was awarded a silver medal while Thandi Sauvignon Blanc Semillon 2007 garnered a bronze medal.

The Thandi Chardonnay 2006 has also won silver at the prestigious Concours Mondial de Bruxelles earlier this year, bronze at the Old Mutual Trophy Wine Show and was commended at the Decanter World Wine Awards. The Thandi Sauvignon Blanc Semillon 2007 concluded the medal tally with a bronze at the Decanter World Wine Awards.

General manager of Thandi Wines, Vernon Henn, said: “Winning these awards make us extremely proud. It serves as testimony to our focus on producing quality wines with the ability to make its mark in the competitions we compete in, irrespective of its Fairtrade or black empowerment status. This is the only way we can build and secure a sustainable business model for Thandi Wines. It remains our objective that the consumer first enjoys our quality wines followed by the feel good factor of supporting a worthy project.”
