Clairault - most successful WA brand at London Wine Challenge

Clairault Wines is proud to announce the 10 medals won at the 2008 International Wine Challenge. Two of those 10 medals being gold medals, the only gold medals awarded to Western Australian wine.

Bill Martin, the Managing Director had these comments. “Clairault has a very bright future, with the vineyard manager, Brian Martin and his team, delivering the super premium fruit parcels to chief winemaker, Will Shields and his team, who then extract the very best to deliver exceptional wines across many styles. Results like this give Clairault that distinctive edge in a very crowded and competitive market place.”

Many wine critics who have reviewed Clairault in the last 12 months, have mentioned the vast improvement in Clairault wines. This improvement is also evident through the accolades won in recent national and international wine shows.

The low intervention approach, sustainable and biological farming techniques that were introduced into the Estate’s vineyards five years ago are unmistakably enhancing the quality of the fruit. This, along with the outstanding winemaking skills of Will Shields and his team, creates a wine that is truly unique and distinctive to Clairault’s vineyards.

Biological farming is a mix of organic and conventional farming techniques which places a strong emphasis on soil biology. These techniques result in high quality crops, while using significantly less herbicide, no insecticides and no synthetic fertilisers.
