Master Winemakers Group, the Yarra Valley-based contract winemaker, has appointed Terry Barnett to the position of general manager and director of winemaking.
For the past seven years Terry held the position of chief winemaker for Brown Brothers and since 2001 he has been the operations division manager. This dual role involved all aspects of wine production from liaison with 100 growers to the development of new Brown Brothers brands culminating in the successful and highly awarded ‘Patricia Range.’

Also previously from Brown Bros, Trina Smith is joining Terry at Master Winemakers as Senior Winemaker. Trina will be involved in the day-to-day handling of all the wines made at Master Winemakers.
Trina brings a vast understanding of global winemaking practices. Her experience at Sonoma-Cutrer Vineyard in the Sonoma Valley, Hartenberg Wine Estate in Stellenbosch and Fattoria Le Fonti in Chianti is added to numerous vintages in Australian regions as diverse as the Hunter Valley and the Adelaide Hills.
