2014 Air Liquide Concours des Vins de Victoria results

Organised by the French-Australian Chamber of Commerce, the Annual Concours des Vins de Victoria brings together two renowned wine-producing cultures; French and Australian.

The 2014 edition of the annual event, boasted a record number of entries and a new Fortified judging class.

The event featured a line-up of 478 different Victorian wines from over 100 wineries, enjoyed by a crowd of close to 1,000 guests including winemakers, judges, sponsors and French-Australian Chamber of Commerce members.

An experienced panel of judges included Bernard Burtschy, wine journalist at Le Figaro and member of Grand Jury Européen.

Burtschy, head judge, said the event was a “wonderful window into changing wine trends” and represented “promising perspectives” for the future of Victorian wines.

Cannibal Creek Vineyard won awards for overall best wine and best white wine with their 2010 Cannibal Creek Chardonnay.

Other trophy winners included Peregrine Ridge for best red with their 2006 Peregrine Ridge Limited Release Shiraz and the Chairman's Coup de Cœur was awarded to Restif for their 2008 Restif Cabernet Sauvignon
