Role of the Supplier Seminar well received by industry

A seminar discussing the supplier’s role in the future of the wine industry, hosted by Wine Industry Suppliers Australia (WISA), the Winemakers’ Federation of Australia (WFA) and Accolade Wines, was well attended at Hardys’ Tintara in McLaren Vale earlier this month.

Attendees were guided through collaborative work between the organisations in regards to a product information disclosure form aimed at becoming an industry standard.

The form aims to provide a minimum standard that benefits both suppliers and wine producers.

Paul Evans, WFA chief executive officer, presented the audience with a current overview of the industry and insights into the direction the organisation are heading in order to assist the industry in reaching long term sustainable profitability.

Evans focused on export market demand and said that as an industry, winemakers need to be cohesive to ensure they have a single voice to government which includes suppliers.

A panel discussion concluded the proceedings with a number of topics discussed.
