Smart to address wine and climate change conference in Barcelona

Dr Richard Smart, consultant viticulturist to Tamar Ridge Estate, is traveling to Barcelona for the Global Warming and Wine International Conference, conducted by the Spanish Wine Academy. The title of Smart’s address is ‘Global Warming and its impact on vines and viticulture’. Smart will be joined by a group of international experts including Dr Greg Jones of Oregon, Drs Bernard Seguin and Pascal Chatonnet of France and Dr Hans Schultz of Germany. Al Gore, Nobel Prize-winning climate change campaigner is also on the program.
This is the second such conference to be organised in Barcelona, and will help to advise the world wine sector of the implications of global warming for wine.
