Wine industry members honoured on Australia Day

More than 500 people were recognised for their achievements in this year’s Australia Day Honours List. Among them were wine industry members; Arthur Ray Beckwith and Mark Hugh Lloyd who were both awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia.
Beckwith was recognised for his service to the Australian wine industry through contributions towards enhancing the quality and efficiency of the winemaking process.
Lloyd was recognised for his service to the tourism and hospitality industry as a contributor to the development of the McLaren Vale region as a premium wine and food destination, as well as pioneering the introduction of Italian plantings into the region, particularly Sangiovese and Nebbiolo.
