Applications for Negociants Australia Wine Fellowship open

Negociants Australia is again offering 200 of Australia’s most promising future wine professionals the opportunity to advance their wine education by participating, free-of-charge, in the 2008 Negociants Australia Wine Fellowship. The program comprises two educational seminars, presented by leading industry figures, and with a panel of experts to add to the experience.
At the end of the program year, a winner will be chosen from the 200 participants. He/she will receive a fully-paid trip to Europe, to visit some of the world’s most celebrated vineyards and wineries, which may include; Antinori, Vieux Telegraphe, Château Pétrus, Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, Domaine Leflaive, Domaine Dujac, Domaine Faiveley, GAJA, Guigal, Hugel and Sassicaia. The winner will return as a Negociants Australia Wine Fellow and will be eligible to attend all future Negociants Australia Working With Wine seminars.

Believing that education is the key to the future success of the Australian wine industry, Negociants Australia in 1998 introduced the Negociants Australia Wine Fellowship to encourage the new generation of Australian wine professionals.
Who should apply? • If you are energetic, enthusiastic, dedicated and wine-passionate; • If you are currently in a role, or aspire to be, where you are “working with wine”, in particular in the retail or on-premise sectors; • If you would like to improve your level of international wine knowledge; • If you believe you have the potential to become an Australian ambassador for wine; • If you would like to hone your writing and sensory evaluation skills; • If you are not a qualified winemaker and do not have a half or full MW pass.
How to qualify As places in the Fellowship are limited, all applicants will be required to complete a one hour entrance examination consisting of written and sensory evaluation of selected masked wines.
