Palandri Wines’ new releases

Palandri Wines is pleased to announce the release of two outstanding new vintages across its ranges; the Palandri 2007 Sauvignon Blanc Semillon and the Baldivis Estate 2005 Shiraz.

The Palandri 2007 Sauvignon Blanc Semillon is the latest edition to the Palandri range, which features distinctive and contemporary, highly affordable, typically West Australian wines.

As Western Australia’s best-selling white wine, the market for Sauvignon Blanc Semillon is highly competitive. Yet this does not faze Palandri’s Senior Winemaker Ben Roodhouse who announces with pride Palandri’s newest release.

“The blend of Sauvignon Blanc (51%) and Semillon (49%) works very well together, giving the wine a good balance of flavour”, says Ben. He continues, “The Sauvignon Blanc gives the wine lively fresh flavours and zingy crispness, with the Semillon giving the wine a great backbone and middle palate fruit weight.”

The 2007 vintage marks a distinct change from the Palandri 2006 Semillon Sauvignon Blanc, which was predominately Semillon (59%).

The Baldivis Estate 2005 Shiraz is the latest release within the Baldivis Estate range, which provides exceptionally well-priced fruit driven wines, ideal for every occasion.

Made of 100% Shiraz, this classic Western Australian Shiraz reflects the hallmarks of a good vintage with good length, complexity and an integrated palate.

“We are very proud of our achievements with this wine. Aromas of dark berry fruit and spicy notes are complemented on the palate where the spice takes charge and the jammy fruit undertones ooze through. The wine is well balanced by the choc mocha flavours from the American oak barriques and has great length and a well-rounded finish,” Roodhouse said.

With a vitality all of it’s own, Baldivis Estate represents exceptional value in every sense, and the new 2005 Shiraz is no exception.

The Palandri 2007 Sauvignon Blanc Semillon has a recommended retail price of $19.95 per bottle, and the Baldivis Estate 2005 Shiraz has a recommended retail price of $11.95 per bottle. Both wines are available at selected liquor outlets nationally.
