Coonawarra Cabernet Celebrations – the largest ever

Coonawarra will be the place to be on 19–21 October this year. With 50 events over the weekend, world Famous wines, gourmet food and music will provide the mix for a fabulous weekend.

Fine Wines, special dinners, Masterclasses, Vineyard Tours, Brunches, eclectic music together with Australia’s most unique wine Auction and the scene is set for an unforgettable three days.

The Coonawarra Cabernet Celebrations kick off on Friday 19 October and continue throughout the weekend with the penultimate event, the Jazz and Sparkling Brunch on Sunday morning. The Barrel Series 11 Wine Auction will follow at 1.30pm and will offer all lovers of Coonawarra Cabernet the opportunity to bid on and purchase the very best of the 2006 Vintage.

The Barrel Series Auction, now in its 11th year, together with Coonawarra Cabernet Celebrations, has a long history of supporting worthy charities. Over the past six years, in excess of $100 000 has been donated. This year the charitable component will be even greater with the proceeds from the two highest selling barrels being donated to Angel Flight Australia.

Angel Flight Australia is a non-profit organization that co-ordinates non-emergency flights for financially and medically challenged people. All flights are free and assist patients or compassionate careers travelling to or from medical facilities anywhere in Australia. Angel Flight pilots do not carry aeromedical staff or medical equipment so do not act as an alternative to the Flying Doctor (RFDS) or Air Ambulance in that capacity.

Barrel Series 11 winning bidders will have the double bonus of purchasing the best of Coonawarra 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon while donating to Angel Flight Australia. Nearly 2 700 Angel Flight missions have been conducted helping over 1 500 patients and family members. Have a great time and feel good about it!
