Red Hill Estate wins gold

Red Hill Estate are delighted to announce that its 2005 Red Hill Estate Chardonnay has won a Gold Medal at the recent Royal Melbourne Wine Show 2007.

The Royal Melbourne Wine Show was first conducted by the Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria in 1884 and featured just 13 entries. This year, more than 485 wineries entered over 3,840 wines from around the country.

The Royal Melbourne Wine Show is recognized both within the industry and by the general public as one of Australia’s most prestigious wine shows. It brings together the very best Australian wine makers and producers and is renowned as a benchmark of excellence in wine production.

Red Hill Estate also received 2 bronze medals for the 2006 Red Hill Estate Chardonnay and the 2005 Red Hill Estate Classic Release Pinot Noir. On winning the gold medal for the 2005 Red Hill Estate Chardonnay senior winemaker Michael Kyberd said “After scoring a gold medal at the Hobart Wine Show for this wine, we were seriously chuffed but to double up at another capital city wine show like Melbourne is even better. Consistent performance proves beyond any doubt that it didn’t just look good on the day; it looks good every day.”
