New industry leaders announced for ZORK’s Speakers Corner at Winetech

Stephen Strachan, Mark McKenzie, Steven Goodman and Jane Robichaud have all been confirmed for ZORK’s Speakers Corner sessions at Winetech.

These speakers will join Hamish MacGowan, Francis Wong, Cindie Smart and Adrian Saturno in sharing their top ten tips for success today and tomorrow at the ZORK stand (303).

Adelaide University Senior Lecturer Dr Steve Goodman is looking forward to the opportunity to share research findings at Speakers Corner this afternoon.

“It’s a sensational idea and a real contribution to furthering innovation in an industry that needs it,” Dr Goodman said.

Dr Goodman will be discussing the topic: What’s driving consumer’s choice for wine.

“Results from a recent GWRDC funded research project have given us a real insight into the influences that drive consumers choice for wine in retail and on-premise.

“We have used empirical data to identify what segments there are and the difference in the influences on their purchase decision.

“This information has helped us to understand the consumer from a behavioural and decision influence point of view rather than a wine stereotypical or mythical segmentation perspective.”

Vice President of Sales and Marketing for ZORK David Pahl said that Jane Robichaud, Vice President of Global Business for Tragon Corporation would also provide a valuable insight.

“Jane has winemaking and strategic sensory evaluation experience, was the co-author of the Wine Aroma Wheel and the creator of the consumer focussed Beringer Wine Tasting Wheel,” Dave said.

“She is a guest speaker of the Australian Wine Industry Technical Conference, and we are delighted that she will be able to participate in Speakers Corner.

“I heard Jane speak at the Unified Wine and Grape Symposium in Sacramento, California in January this year, and I can assure you she is a tremendous presenter.

“We have had an enthusiastic response to Speakers Corner from all facets of the Australian wine industry.

“It’s a great way to meet these industry leaders and have a chat — I am sure that all who attend will get a lot out of it,” Dave said.
