Brisbane businessman John Lyons has been appointed a director on the board of Queensland company Sirromet Wines.
The independent company director, who has 30 years experience in business, joins Sirromet's board which also includes winery owner Terry Morris and solicitor Cameron Delahunty, both from the Gold Coast.
Lyons' background includes senior marketing and sales positions with Bayer Australia Ltd, and then founder and operator of Marketshare Pty Ltd, which he sold in 2000. His current board appointments include Softlink International Ltd, Onetest Workforce Diagnostics, the Royal Children's Hospital Foundation, and Jupiters Casino Community Benefit Fund.
He is co-author with international 'lateral thinking' authority Dr Edward de Bono of the book 'Marketing without Money', which examines high-growth Australian entrepreneurial innovators including Graham Turner, Gerry Harvey, and Dick Smith.
Morris said the appointment of Lyons to Sirromet's board was part of the company's future growth strategy.
"John brings a wealth of relevant business experience and expertise to Sirromet which will compliment the various skills of our other board members and staff as we head into the future," said Morris.
