Double whammy for Chambers

Rutherglen Youngblood and sixth generation winemaker Stephen Chambers is certainly on a roll at present after news from America.
Both entries in the Los Angeles International Wine and Spirits Competition carried off medals then the same wines were awarded silver medals at another prestigious competition, the 2007 Critics Challenge.
At the 2007 LA International Wine Competition, which has been running for the past 68 years, Gold was awarded to the Chambers Grand Muscat while the non vintage Rutherglen Muscadelle picked up a bronze.
Touted as "The most innovative wine competition in the United States" the Critics Challenge pitts local wines and spirits against the best in the world and is adjudicated by an impressive array of renowned wine journalists, educators and authors.
“Complex and earthy. All burnt almonds and chocolate, dates and exotic spices” said judge Nick Passmore when talking about Chambers Grand Muscat while Paul Lukac, who writes for The Washington Times, described the non vintage Muscadelle as “rich and decadently sweet and sumptuous.”
