Clare Valley Winemakers appoint new executive officer

The Clare Valley Winemakers have appointed Michele Prince as their new executive officer.

The newly expanded role will widen the management of CVWI affairs and allow them to take up new opportunities. Participation in Promotional Events in the Clare Valley and beyond to Domestic and International Marketplaces will be an area of focus for Michele as she begins her journey with ‘The Winemakers’.

Andrew Mitchell the current Chairman of the CVWI was delighted to announce Michele’s appointment.

“The Clare Valley Winemakers were among the first regional representative bodies to form and present a united front to wine consumers around the world.”

“We have a long history of winemaking in the Clare Valley, and the CVWI has been a major part of this for the past thirty years,” Andrew Mitchell said.

“We have a busy schedule representing our region at State and Federal levels, taking on important issues and making sure that Clare Valley’s status is enhanced at every stage. Additionally we have a strong focus on promoting the region through events such as the Gourmet Weekend held on the first weekend of May each year and The Clare Valley Regional Wine Show, an important event on the calendar for all those producing wine from our region”

For these reasons it is vital that the Clare Valley Winemakers source the best people possible to aid in meeting our objectives.

“Michele brings strong skills in administration and project coordination; two areas that are vital to the strength of our organisation.”

“Michele has a background in winery sales and marketing and event management having spent the past 17 months covering many bases at Pirramimma in McLaren Vale. Before this, her career in IT meant Michele developed a high degree of relationship building skills and commercial acumen, attributes that I feel will make a strong contribution to ‘The Winemakers’,” Mitchell said.

Michele commences her role on Monday 25th June 2007.
